Holistic Hound Don't Bug Me is a natural, herbal monthly spot-on to repel ticks and fleas. The natural spot-on is a fantastic alternative to harsh chemical parasite controls that have been shown to have undesirable and even dangerous side effects.

The active ingredient, geraniol, a natural compound derived from plants like geraniums, possesses insect-repellent properties. Geraniol works by disrupting the pests' sensory receptors, making it difficult for them to locate and latch onto a host. Once applied it spreads across the skin and sits in the hair follicles. Geraniol acts as a safer alternative to chemicals. Additionally, it exhibits antimicrobial properties alongside its repellent and insecticidal effects.

The geraniol binds with the General Odorant Binding Proteins (GOPBs) in the insects’ antennae or other olfactory sensory organs, disrupting the host odor profile, repelling the insects.

Geraniol disrupts the insect's cell walls and membranes, and acts directly on the insect’s cuticle (called chitin) dehydrating them and subsequently suffocating them. Geraniol does not act on the nervous system of insects, so it does not have a neurotoxic effect on pests or pets!

Ingredients:

Geraniol (1% w/v) in sesame oil (Soluble carrier oil based).This is a colourless or sometimes pale-yellow oily liquid with a sweet rose scent that's derived from various essential oils.

Directions of Use:

• Apply 1ml per 5kg of dog weight every 4 weeks.
• Each pipette holds 1ml
• For example, a 10kg dog would need 2ml (2 pipettes) every 4 weeks.

For an active dog, in and out of water or regularly groomed, living in a high-risk/wooded area, we recommend reapplication every two weeks. Otherwise, apply every 4 weeks.

Application:

Ensure that you empty the pipette fully and shake well before refilling the pipette. This ensures that the correct amount is applied.

Fill the pipette completely, part hair and apply directly to the skin from the neck/scruff area down towards the base of the tail.
